PUK delegation visits Maxmur Camp

A PUK delegation paid a condolence visit to Maxmur Camp. The PUK representatives offered their condolences to the family of Diyar Norşin, who died in Maxmur, and stressed the importance of Kurdish unity.

A delegation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has visited the self-administered refugee camp Maxmur in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) to condole with the family of the fallen guerrilla commander Diyar Norşin. Diyar Norşin's real name was Feyzi Kaya, and he grew up in Maxmur. His death was announced by the People's Defence Forces (HPG) on Sunday. He was martyred in an attack by the Turkish army in the Zap region in October 2021 after twenty years of revolutionary struggle.

PUK representative Xazi Feysel offered his condolences to the family and said that Diyar Norşin was a martyr of the people of Kurdistan. "We have a common enemy, and we must form a unity to liberate all four parts of Kurdistan. This is our common goal as Kurdish people. As PUK, we follow the thoughts of Mam Jalal [Talabanî] and Abdullah Öcalan. We are not hostile to any nation, we are against the occupiers. As PUK and PKK, we are close and defend our country," Feysel said.

Heci Kaçan from Maxmur Camp agreed with him and pointed out the current dangers for Kurdistan: "If we let ourselves be divided, we have no strength. Only through unity can we make the enemy's plans against the Kurdish people fail and protect the gains fought for by our martyrs."
