PUK Spokesperson: Masrour Barzani encourages the Turkish state to attack Sulaymaniyah

PUK Spokesperson Seedi Ahmet Pire stated that Masrour Barzani, the head of the Kurdistan Region government, encouraged the Turkish state to attack the city of Sulaymaniyah instead of protecting it.

Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Spokesperson Seedi Ahmet Pire reacted to a news article published in the Xebat newspaper on 14 May with the headline "PKK has established armed forces in Sulaymaniyah and is sending them to Qandil and Rojava".

According to RojNews agency, Ahmet Pire stated that Xebat is a media organ affiliated to KDP, the party of Masrour Barzani, the head of the interim government of Kurdistan Region.

Seedi Ahmet Pire stated: "Masrour Barzani, the head of the government, is encouraging the Turkish state to attack Sulaymaniyah instead of protecting Sulaymaniyah and telling the Turkish state that there is no point in attacking Sulaymaniyah. The KDP and the PUK should hold a meeting as soon as possible about the purpose for which this issue was drafted. It should be explained with what evidence this form, which they put forward as a new form of negotiation with PUK, has been put forward."
