Activists that continue their human shield action against invasion in Qandil stated that Qandil will never be given in to invaders.
The Human Shield action launched against the Turkish state’s invasion attacks in South Kurdistan in Qandil by the youth continues on day 21.
Sirwan Raperîn, a member of the Patriotic Youth’s Movement that is leading the action together with Young Women’s Movement, spoke to ANF about their ongoing protest.
Raperîn stated that their action is drawing great interest from four parts of Kurdistan in addition to internationalist circles. Raperîn said several political circles in southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq, have also been supporting the action, visiting the participants and leading discussions as to what needs to be done against Turkish invasion.
Sîrwan Raperîn pointed out that their discussions at the scene of the Human Shield action focus on the challenging war in four parts of Kurdistan and the alliance formed by Turkey’s AKP (Justice and Development Party) and MHP (Nationalist Movement’s Party) over Kurdish enmity.
Raperîn said; “This process began with Kirkuk incidents and the invasion of Afrin. Turkey is threatening Qandil now. However, Qandil is not an easy target. Turkey has long wanted to invade Qandil but they failed each time. Qandil will never surrender to the invaders.”
Raperîn stated that the people of Qandil are suffering harm because of ongoing Turkish attacks but they are determined to not leave their lands, aware of what the Turkish State seeks to achieve.
Sirwan Raperîn told the followings as to their daily routine in the Human Shield action; “We are in an intensive work tempo here in addition to hosting our guests and visitors. We undergo training every day over the reality of invasion in Kurdistan. The context of the invasion is its mentality and cultural dimension. With the awareness of the reality of invasion, we focus on the ways to perceive and overcome the dangers of this process. Our training also involves our history and the role of the youth. With heart and soul, we are trying to inform the public about invasion attacks.”
