Fighters of the Internationalist Brigade that participate in the operation to liberate Raqqa stated that the fall of ISIS capital Raqqa would also bring the end of the fascist AKP-Erdoğan dictatorship in Turkey.
Marxist-Leninist Communist Party (MLKP) fighter Abuzer Göçer; a member of the Internationalist Brigade in Rojava, stated that their brigade joined the initiative from Siluk and the first phase of the operation ended successfully. Göçer said “Arab, Kurdish, Turkmen and Assyrian fighters of the operation are fighting ISIS in a spirit of comradery, and the offensive against Raqqa implies war against the AKP-Erdoğan state. We are fighting against ISIS fascism as part of our regional revolution strategy. Raqqa is the main base of ISIS gangs. Its fall will guarantee the future of Rojava cantons. The strengthening of Rojava revolution implies the strengthening of the revolution in Turkey and North Kurdistan. Gangs have been dissolved. They cannot resist us so they choose to flee. We reiterate our promise to the martyrs of Rojava Revolution that we will enhance the revolution.”
‘WE WILL LIBERATE WOMEN FROM ISIS CRUELTY’
TKPML-TİKKO woman fighter Sefagük Arslan, who has joined Raqqa Initative as part of the Internationalist Brigade, stated that women under ISIS cruelty would be liberated without a doubt. Arslan noted that she and her comrades have participated in several initiatives across Rojava including Kobanê resistance, and the fall of Raqqa would strengthen Rojava revolution. Arslan said “The gangs are unable to resist. It is my honor to be a part of this initiative as a woman. ISIS hates women more than anyone else. The fall of Raqqa will bring the end of the AKP-Erdoğan dictatorship.”
‘ISIS GANGS WILL BE BROKEN IN RAQQA’
Mahir Can Efe, a fighter of the United Freedom Forces (BÖG) which is a constituent of the Internationalist Brigade, emphasized the international component of Raqqa Initiative and said that the successful end of the first phase of Wrath of Raqqa Initiative has made Turkey uncomfortable and made Erdoğan even more aggressive with his fascism. Efe said “Turkey’s main goal has always been to ensure that the ISIS occupation of Raqqa continues so that Rojava cantons remain disconnected. ISIS has harmed the region’s peoples from Raqqa. ISIS gangs will be broken in Raqqa, and so will their supporters.”
