In Southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq), a representative of Tevgera Azadî (Freedom Movement) was shot dead in front of his house. The perpetrator fired several times at the man in front of his house in Kifrî, a southern district of Sulaymaniyah governorate, security sources said on Sunday.
Suheyl Xurşîd Ezîz was an author, historian and member of the general assembly of the Movement for a Free Society in Kurdistan (Tevgera Azadiya Civaka Kurdistanê). Also known as "Mamostê Şemal", Ezîz also worked for the Kifrî Agricultural Authority.
According to the police in Kifrî, Ezîz had just finished work when he was ambushed in front of his house. He was admitted to a hospital in Kelar, where his death was confirmed. The police authority for the Germiyan region is responsible for the investigation.
