Heavy clashes took place between YPS and YPS-JIN members and the state forces that tried to enter the neighborhoods of self-administration in Şırnak’s Yeni Mahalle and Bahçelievler neighborhoods last night. State forces continue to bombard the city.
State forces bombarded Şırnak throughout last night as the genocidal attacks on the city enter their 27th day. Heavy clashes broke out between YPS and YPS-JIN members and the state forces that tried to enter Yeni Mahalle and Bahçelievler neighborhoods during last night’s bombardment. Many ambulances arrived at the site of the clashes and took several soldiers and police officers to the 23rd Gendarme Border Division Command that is being used as a hospital.
Many houses caught on fire as a result of the bombardment that continued until this morning. Unable to yield any results, state forces retreated and resumed their bombardment. State forces have been shelling Bahçelievler, Dicle, Cumhuriyet, İsmetpaşa and Gazipaşa over the past two days.
On the other hand, the fire that began after yesterday’s heavy clashes and bombardment in the 23rd Gendarme Border Division Command continued until the early morning hours. Further information has not been made public regarding the fire that causes explosions at the command from time to time.
