A ceremony was held for the memory of Sakine Cansız (Sara), one of the three revolutionary Kurdish women murdered in French capital Paris on January 9, 2013, by her grave in Dersim. A large group of women went to the mausoleum in the Municipality’s Cemetery where they held a minute’s silence and chanted “Comrade Sara is immortal”.
The women lit candles and placed carnations by the grave.
After the event, participants were kept waiting in the snow during an ID check at Sütlüce checkpoint by the entrance of the cemetery. The group continued after the checks.
