Thousands joined the commemoration ceremony at Martyr Rüstem Cudi Refugee Camp in Makhmur for PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) founding member Sakine Cansız (Sara), KNK (Kurdistan National Congress) Paris Representative Fidan Doğan (Rojbin) and Kurdish Youth Movement member Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahi) who were murdered in French capital Paris on January 9, 2013.

A march was staged from the municipality building to the Makhmur Culture and Art Center with the participation of residents from all the 5 localities in the Martyr Rüstem Cudi Refugee Camp. Students from primary, secondary and high schools also joined the march and commemoration.

People were mainly dressed in black and carrying posters of Sakine, Fidan, Leyla, Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and of Sêvê Demir, Pakize Nayır and Fatma Uyar -three Kurdish women, similarly murdered, by Turkish state forces, in Şırnak's Silopi district in January, 2016.

Speaking during the commemoration outside Makhmur Culture and Art Center, Makhmur Camp's Ishtar Assembly Coordination Member Medya Cudi strongly condemned all the parties and forces involved in this conspiracy against Sara, Rojbin and Ronahi, realized through Turkish intelligence MIT.

Cudi recalled that “this honorless conspiracy” was perpetrated during the peace and resolution process that had been initiated under the leadership of Leader Apo (Öcalan) and brought the Kurdish people close to success.

"This conspiracy is a follow-up of the conspiracy against Leader Apo. As the people of Martyr Rüstem Cudi Refugee Camp, we strongly denounce and condemn all those forces that are involved in this conspiracy”, she said.

Regarding the attitude of the French state in the face of this conspiracy, Cudi stressed that the French state still did not want to shed light on this massacre which became a disgrace to Paris court during the four years that have passed since.

Cudi added the followings: “By shedding no light on this massacre, the French state has both inflicted a major blow against its own judiciary, and manifested that it stands not by the Kurdish people but their enemies. As the Kurdish people, and women in the first place, we will seek justice and enhance our struggle until light is shed on this incident and all the engaged sides are brought to light and justice.”
