Sarıyıldız: Figures won't alter the nature of this atrocity

HDP Şırnak deputy Faysal Sarıyıldız said soldiers and special operation police went to Cizre Municipality earlier today and took two municipal ambulances to Cudi neighborhood to retrieve the bodies.

HDP Şırnak deputy Faysal Sarıyıldız who is in Şırnak's Cizre district spoke to ANF regarding the current situation in the town amid reports of a massacre against wounded people trapped in a building in Cudi neighborhood.

Sarıyıldız told the followings; “Last night's reports of a mass killing followed a very huge blast in the town. We later learned that 7 corpses were taken to hospital where staff is said to be locked in a room as state forces have taken hospital under their control. We do not know if these 7 are slain or wounded people. We had already been informed about the 9 people who burned to death in a building they were trapped in. According to the information we reached indirectly, some more burned bodies have been found. These people were wounded and trapped, and surrounded by state forces. Tank strikes had previously started a fire in the building. We cannot get proper information at the moment as to how many people were executed there last night, or in what manner.”

HDP MP stated that soldiers and special operation police went to Cizre Municipality earlier today and took two municipal ambulances to Cudi neighborhood to retrieve the bodies. He said reports that 30 burned bodies have been taken to hospital are yet to be confirmed by their side.

Regarding Şırnak Governor's Office statement that “10 terrorists were neutralized”, Sarıyıldız said the followings; “The official state television TRT said last night that 60 people were killed. This was later followed by reports of 30 people, and now 10 as stated by the governor's office. They may be announcing lower figures to avoid growing public reaction. The fact is that a brutal massacre has been committed here. Figures won't alter the nature of this atrocity.”
