Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that they have launched operation ‘Wrath of Euphrates’ (Xezeba Firatê) to liberate Raqqa from ISIS gangs.
In its statement, SDF said:
“We give the good news to the heroic and patient people of Raqqa that as the Syrian Democratic Forces General Command, we have launched the operation to liberate Raqqa, the capital of the so-called caliphate, from ISIS gangs that have been a menace to the world with their terror. The liberation operation began on the night of November 5. For our forces to advance in coordination, we have created the ‘Wrath of Euphrates Action Room.’ We say to democratic forces, peoples of the region and Syria, and particularly the people of Raqqa that we will fight until our operations reaches success and Raqqa is liberated after the gangs in the capital of terror are encircled. Just like we were successful in Kobanê, Girê Spî, Hesekê, Hol, Sheddade and Manbij, we will be successful in Raqqa.
Operation Liberate Raqqa will be completed successfully with the active participation of Kurdish, Arab and Turkmen warriors under the roof of the SDF, YPG/YPJ fighters, and the international coalition forces.
Once again, we call upon international powers to provide logistical, military and moral support to the honorable struggle for the liberation of regions under ISIS occupation.
Also, we call upon human rights and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their duties and responsibilities for the liberation of the people of Raqqa from ISIS gangs.
Lastly, we call upon our heroic people to stay away from the areas where there are gangs because these areas will be targeted by our forces and the international coalition, and flee to liberated areas and join our forces in order to show their support.
