Sêmalka border crossing to Rojava closed until further notice
KDP has closed the Sêmalka/Pêşxabûr border crossing to Rojava until further notice.
South Kurdistan’s ruling party KDP is once again imposing an embargo on Rojava. The ruling party has declared that it will close the Sêmalka/Pêşxabûr border crossing from February 4 until further notice. Nothing is known about the reason for the closure.
The KDP has repeatedly closed the border crossing to prevent aid and trade goods from reaching the self-governing region. The KDP is working with Turkey to dismantle the autonomous administration in Rojava.
