HPG Media center issued a written statement on guerilla actions that have been continuing without a pause.

HAKKARİ

HPG stated that the Turkish army operation in the Mergêzerê region of Hakkari’s Yüksekova district continues. Guerillas carried out an ambush action against the soldiers from 2 different directions at 17:30 on September 24, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified. Clashes in the region have continued without a pause since 05:30 on September 24, and soldiers at Kobra helicopters were forced to end their bombardment and retreat from the region after the response of the guerillas with heavy weaponry. At least 2 soldiers were killed during these clashes.

As part of the Martyr Arnos Revolutionary Initiative, guerillas carried out an action from 2 different directions against the soldiers at the Bezokê outpost in the Oremar area of Hakkari’s Yüksekova district at 10:30 on September 24. An A-4 heavy weaponry position, a tent, a container and an ammunition depot were destroyed and the fire at the outpost lasted until 16:00 on the same day.

Guerillas carried out a road control action on the road near Dawuşa village between Hakkari and its Çukurca district between 09:00 and 10:30 on September 21. During ID checks, the guerillas took Specialist Sergeant Ümit Gıcır (born in Balıkesir) and Mevlüt Kahveci (born in Eskişehir) as well as a counter-guerilla as prisoner. The Turkish army carried out an operation in the area but failed to yield any results, and the captured soldiers and counter-guerilla were taken to guerilla bases safely.

HPG guerillas carried out a sabotage action against the soldiers inside a Kirpi armored vehicle moving from the Bilican outpost to Ertuş area in Hakkari’s Çukurca district at 10:30 on September 24. The numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified. Guerillas also carried out a shelling action against the soldiers at Martyr Cahit hill on September 24 and damaged an earth digger. The same guerilla unit also hit the nearby outpost, but the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.
ŞIRNAK

HPG Media Center announced that a group of counter-guerillas attempted to attack a guerilla unit near the village of Avkamasiya near the Şırnak – Cizre road at 10:30 on September 24. A counter-guerilla was killed during the assassination action the guerillas carried out in response, and the guerillas safely reached their bases.

HPG announced that a person carrying out counter guerilla activities under the disguise of shephearding near the village of Kaniya Kaymakam in Şırnak was punished on September 20 after ignoring previous warnings and continuing counter-guerilla efforts.

MARDİN

1 soldier was killed during an assassination action guerillas carried out against the soldiers at the Elfhan outpost in Mardin’s Savur district on September 24.

VAN

In Van’s Gürpınar district, YJA Star guerillas destroyed an internet cell tower in Rekava village at 17:00 on September 20 and a Türk Telekom cell tower and generator in Dimê area at 17:00 on September 24.

BİTLİS

HPG stated that guerillas carried out an action against the Turkish army positions at a hill in between Bitlis and Baykan at 14:00 on September 24. A civilian vehicle carrying soldiers as well as army positions were hit during the action, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.

DERSİM

Lastly, clashes broke out when a group of guerillas ran into soldiers as they were on a mission near the village of Ağveren in Dersim’s Hozat district at 09:00. One guerilla fell as martyr during the clashes, and the ID information of this guerilla will soon be shared with the public.
