HPG Media Center issued a written statement and said that guerillas have carried out comprehensive actions against the Turkish state’s isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and policies of genocide such as the destruction of Lice.

MANY SOLDIERS KILLED IN HİZAN

HPG announced that guerillas carried out a roadblock action on the road between Bitlis’ Hizan district, Siirt’s Pervari district and Van’s Bahçesaray district between 17:00 and 19:00 on August 17, and Turkish soldiers bombarded the area from Kobra-trype helicopters around 22:30 on the same day.

HPG stated that Turkish soldiers launched an operation in Nızarê Azê and Deşta Xeyda regions at 08:00 on August 18, but were met with the resistance of guerillas and 1 village guard and 1 soldier was killed and 3 soldiers were injured during the clashes. Soldiers bombarded the area from Kobra-type helicopters and the village guards set the region on fire before they withdrew around 13:00. Guerillas carried out a sabotage action against the soldiers withdrawing from the area with a Kobra-type armored vehicle around 13:00, and the vehicle was destroyed and 8 soldiers were killed as another 7 were injured during the action. HPG guerilla Medeni Dağ fell as martyr during the clashes.

SOLDIERS SET THE AREA ON FIRE

HPG said that guerillas carried out an action against the soldiers at the Rıclek outpost in Bitlis at 14:30 on August 18, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified. The soldiers randomly bombarded and caused a fire in the area surrounding the outpost after the guerilla action.

ASSASSINATION ACTION OF YJA STAR GUERILLAS

Turkish soldiers carried out house raids in the Dawuşa village of Hakkari’s Çukurca district at 12:00 on August 18. YJA STAR guerillas carried out a series of assassination actions against the soldiers, and 3 soldiers were killed before the Turkish army retreated from the village.

ACTION AGAINST ŞIRNAK BRIGADE

HPG stated that guerillas carried out an action against Şırnak brigade on August 16, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.

ID CONTROL ON THE ŞIRNAK-SİİRT ROAD

The Media Center stated that guerillas carried out ID controls on the road between Şırnak and Siirt at 06:00 on August 17, and Turkish soldiers attempted to intervene in the guerilla checkpoint but were met with the resistance of the guerillas around 10:30. 3 soldiers were killed and 1 soldier was injured during the clashes, and the guerillas hit and damaged 2 Kobra-type armored vehicles after the action. The clashes in the area lasted until 01:00 on August 18, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.

HPG noted that another guerilla unit carried out a roadblock on the Şırnak- Navyana Şêxa road and informed the public about the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Guerillas took control of both roads until August 18, and the Turkish army randomly bombarded the area and caused fires in the region.
