Shengal Diaspora Assembly calls for the recognition of PKK

Shengal Diaspora Assembly stated Êzidîs should also participate in the Mosul operation to save the women and children held captive by the ISIS, and called on international circles to recognize the PKK.

Shengal Diaspora Assembly released a statement regarding the operation to liberate Mosul, the second largest city of Iraq, from ISIS occupation which continues on its fourth day.

The statement recalled that it was HPG, YPG/YPJ that stopped the ISIS attack on Êzidîs in 2014, while the forces in Shengal left the people to face a genocide.

The Assembly pointed out that: “Leader Apo defended the existence and reality of Êzidîs and told about them to the world history. Êzidîs organised themselves on the basis of this philosophy in Shengal.

No matter to what extent they cooperate, the KDP and AKP cannot destroy this will anymore. We are on the fourth day of the Mosul operation. The presence of Turkish troops in Bashiqa results from the AKP's desire to support the ISIS gangs. AKP and KDP serve the same purpose; to divide Kurdistan, to obstruct the self-governance of Êzidîs and to trample on the will of Kurdistan.

Shengal will defend its will and the Shengal people, Shengal resistance forces YBŞ-YJŞ will fight in the Mosul Operation to save the women, children and girls taken captive by the ISIS because the people of Shengal paid the heaviest biggest price and they have right to join this offensive. We are ready for both peace and war and we are also ready, always, to defend our lands."

Shengal Diaspora Assembly also condemned the attitude against the PKK, saying the followings: “PKK is an organisation that defends democracy, fraternity, equality and the faith of all ethnic groups and folks. We have experienced this in Shengal. Europe and other states should recognize the PKK and know that PKK protects the Êzidîs, other folks and faith groups.”
