The four YBŞ fighters and four employees of the hospital who fell as martyrs in the Turkish air strike targeting the Sikêniyê Hospital were laid to rest.
A Turkish air strike targeted the Sikêniyê hospital in the region of Shengal. Four hospital workers and four fighters of the Shengal Resistance Units (YBŞ) lost their lives as the result of the attack, and eight other people from the hospital were injured. The eight fallen were buried by a large crowd. Before the dead were taken to various cemeteries, a central military ceremony took place at the Şehîd Dilgeş and Şehîd Berxwedan fallen cemetery on Mount Shengal. After a minute of silence, the Yazidi institutions and bodies said a few words in memory of the fallen.
Axîn Întiqam, on behalf of the command of the YBŞ and YJŞ, said: “We promise our patriotic families that we will work day and night to make the dreams and wishes of our martyrs come true. These murderous attacks will not achieve their goal. Let everyone know that if one of us falls, dozens will stand up in his place."
Azad Hüseyin, speaking on behalf of Shengal self-government, said that the Iraqi government was partly responsible for these attacks and needs to clarify its position on such attacks on the Yazidi people
