Shengal people demanding humanitarian corridor with Rojava
Shengal residents are demanding the opening of the human corridor between Shengal and Rojava. The people have set up a resistance tent on the border.
On 3 December 2014, the Iraqi government closed the humanitarian corridor, which had been opened by the YPG fighters after the genocide attacks carried out by DAESH on 3 August 2014.
The human corridor, however, was closed time and time again by the Iraqi government.
On 24 January the people of Shengal launched a new resistance action by setting up a tent on the border.
The corridor is vital for the people as it allowed medicines and other basic products to reach the people of Shengal.
