Drones belonging to the Turkish state bombed a house in Khanasor (Xanesor) on Tuesday. The people of Shengal condemned the attacks by the Turkish state where the bombing took place. The statement called on the Iraqi government and international institutions to prevent the attacks.
The statement was read by Ali Hamid, member of the Xanesor People's Assembly. The statement said: “Whenever our people want to return to their homeland, dirty plans are being made to prevent them from returning. The will of our people will not be won over by these attacks. As the Yazidi community, we have experienced many attacks in history. However, we did not surrender our will to anyone."
The statement continued: "Today, a country's attacks on civilians are unacceptable. These attacks are a violation of international law. We call on all international institutions not to remain silent in the face of these attacks and to set boundaries with the fascist chief Erdogan."
Speaking on behalf of the Yazidi Free Women's Movement (TAJÊ), Zabida Şengali said: "These attacks against Shengal are carried out within the scope of the 9 October Agreement. We have resisted this agreement. We will not leave our lands and we will not allow any agreement to be implemented against our will. As Shengal, we are a part of Iraq. If Iraq sees us as a part of itself, it should protect its territorial sovereignty and take a stand against attacks."
Şêx Kemal, who lives in the house bombed by the Turkish state, said: “My house, which was targeted by the Turkish state, was damaged. I have nothing but this house."
