The Democratic Self-Administration Council in Shengal expressed support with the uprising in Sheladize, stating that they share the same position with the people of Sheladize.
The Democratic Self-Administration Council in Shengal issued a statement in support of the people of Sheladize who rose up against the Turkish state occupation in Kurdistan Region.
The Council offered condolences to the families of the martyred protesters and greeted the resistance in Sheladize.
The statement pointed to the military and intelligence bases of the Turkish state in Kurdistan Region and reminded that the KRG and Iraqi government have yet not acted against the Turkish state which has killed tens of Kurdish civilians.
The Democratic Self-Administration Council stated that the Turkish state continues its hostility in order to commit a perpetual genocide against the Kurdish people and undermine their political achievements, “We the Kurdish people should unite our positions. The occupation of Afrin, aerial bombardment of Shengal and Maxmur regions, all carried out by the Turkish state, mean that they intend to massacre the democratic and freedom-loving communities. In the recent period, at least seven civilians were murdered by the Turkish state in Shengal and Maxmur. We should unite against the aggression that targets the Kurdish people, and immediately declare our shared stance,” the statement added.
The uprising of the people in Sheladize was noted as an ‘act in defense of Kurdistan soil and the unity of the Kurds’. “As said by the protesters in Sheladize, the Kurdish people are united, therefore they must stand firm against aggression,” the statement said.
The statement was concluded with the following: “We urge all the Kurds to support the people of Sheladize, and expel the occupiers out of Kurdistan.”
