Hundreds of young people in Shengal joined the demonstration held in front of Sinûne People's Assembly building to protest the Turkish state's invasion attacks against Bashur (South) Kurdistan.
The march was promoted by the Youth Yazidi Union, Young Yazidi Women Union and TAJÊ (Yazidi Women Freedom Movement).
Shiqab Reşo addressed the demonstrators and said: “The invading Turkish state wants to occupy the entire Middle Eastern lands following its new Ottoman dream. The Turkish state is now invading South Kurdistan and Iraq. The occupiers are targeting our citizens in the region. The KDP is actually supporting the occupation with the support of the Barzani family. In fact, the Turkish consul in Hewlêr Hakan Karaçay is acting as if he was the President of the Kurdistan Region.”
The youth reminded that with the support of Barzani, the Turkish state has set up many outposts and bases in South Kurdistan. “The Turkish state is carrying out massacres with warplanes and plundering the vineyards and gardens of the citizens.”
Yazidi Young Women's Union and the Yazidi Young People's Union reiterated their commitment to fight occupation and they commended the resistance of the guerrillas in Xakurkê region of Bashur.
“We are ready to fight against the occupation. - said the young people - Our call to South Kurdistan and Iraq youth is to join the protest against the Turkish occupation.”
