Siirt and Dersim Co-mayors detained

In line with the political genocide operations, Dersim Co-mayors Nurhayat Altun and Mehmet Ali Bul and Siirt Co-mayor Tuncer Bakırhan have been detained.

Police forces conducted a series of house raids in Dersim in the early hours of the morning. Dersim Municipality co-mayors Mehmet Ali Bul and Nurhayat Altun, City Council Member Cemile Ataş, DİSK Dersim Branch Co-chair Şükran Yılmaz, DBP Provincial Branch Co-chair Murat Polat, HDP Provincial Branch Co-chair Aslan Çağ, HDP PM Member Ali Ekber Kaya, HDP administrators Hüseyin Dağdeviren and Yaşar Ağın, EMEP Provincial Branch Co-chair Mustafa Taşkale, BES Dersim representative Musa Kılıç, Peace spokesperson Aysel Doğan and Hakan Kavut have been detained.

The politicians are reportedly detained for alleged participation in demonstrations including press statements and closing up shops on November 4-5 to protest the detention of the co-mayors of Amed Metropolitan Municipality.

In Siirt, Co-mayor Tuncer Bakırhan’s home was raided by the police. Bakırhan was detained following a search in his home.

The police have also raided the Siirt Municipality building and are conducting a search.
