People living in Sinunê town of Shengal are heading to Mount Shengal for a safe shelter after the recent attack launched by KDP-affiliated groups on Khanasor over Sinunê. Locals demand the urgent withdrawal of the KDP forces from Shengal territory.

Sinunê residents speaking to ANF said the followings;

Nisan Eli: When fighting erupted, we took to the Mount Shengal which is the sole shelter for the Êzidîs. We lack basic needs. We two families are staying in the same place. The gangs attempted to massacre our children and abduct our girls. We want everyone to see the situation here and help us.

Hedo Brahim: We have nowhere but Mount Shengal to take shelter. We came here when fighting erupted in Khanasor. The so-called Rojava peshmergas are those who committed a massacre against our people on August 3, 2014. We want that this war stops and our children do not die anymore.

Mihbet Salih: We have been forced to leave home once again. We are here for some 6 days and we want an immediate end to the war on our lands.

Şervan Xwedêda: On August 3, 2014 the gangs besieged our territory and peshmerga forces did not allow us to leave our villages. Peshmergas left us into the hands of the gangs, and fled. After that, KDP's asayish forces started to create a trouble because our youths partook in the Shengal resistance. They did not leave us an opportunity to live home at peace, for which reason we went to Sinunê. The only difference between the ISIS and these new groups is their uniforms.

Adil Sileman: While we were prepating to turn back home, plans were made on Ezidxan once again during Barzani's visit to Turkey. The groups made up of Turkish and ISIS gangs attempted to commit another massacre in Ezidxan. We are here in Mount Shengal for a few days now. We will resist here and never leave our land.

Tehsin Şeref: Dozens of press members came here but they did not make our voice heard, they did not tell about our pain. Hundreds of our people have been displaced again and taken shelter on Mount Shengal.
