While details are yet not clear regarding the mass killing of dozens in Cudi neighborhood of Şırnak's Cizre district last night, Şırnak Governor's Office has released a statement reporting an operation by Turkish forces in the town.

Releasing a very short statement this morning, Şırnak Governor's Office provided no information regarding the operation on the building where wounded people had taken shelter, but saying; “10 terrorists were neutralized as a result of the operation against members of the seperatist terrorist organisation in the district of Cizre".

While the state-run TRT TV reported last night that Turkish security forces conducted an operation on a basement in the town of Cizre in the evening hours, as a result of which “some 60 terrorists were neutralized”. Turkish mainstream media today reports the incident as "30 terrorists were neutralized".

The statement by Şırnak Governor's Office didn't mention the figures of casualties reported by the Turkish media.
