Şırnak People’s Democratic Assembly stated that the 2 months-old Botan resistance surpasses those of Stalingrad and Kela Dimdimê, and defends humanity’s communal values and moral-political life with the spirit of Kobanê.

The assembly called upon everyone to join the resistance in a spirit of the 1990s, and commemorated the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in determined Apoist spirit. The assembly noted that Erdoğan and the AKP has allied with dark forces and used unprecedented brutality that surpasses ISIS savagery and destroys city while attacking peoples’ moral sites such as mosques and cemeteries.

The People’s Democratic Assembly praised the heroic resistance of Şırnak’s residents that has kept the AKP’s savage state forces away from several neighborhoods for 60 days, and called upon people to be patient. The assembly noted that all brutal rulers have attacked people with all their might when their power was in decline, and the AKP’s attacks showed the governments weakness, not strength.

Lastly, the assembly called upon everyone to be proud of young Kurdish men and women defending Botan and Kurdistan in general with the 1990s’ spirit of uprising and national liberation, and to join the resistance so that colonial forces are defeated and Kurdish people are liberated.
