Besides denying responsibility in the destruction of sacred places, state forces go on to put the blame on YPS, Civil Defense Units leading the popular resistance in the areas of self-rule.
A similar case has taken place today in the province of Şırnak where historical structures, places of worship, governmental institutions and hospitals are being targeted and bombed alongside residential areas across several neighborhoods.
Turkish military and police forces who demolished numerous mosques and other sacred places during their genocidal campaign in Northern Kurdistan so far have this time bombed the Geylani Mosque in Yeni neighborhood with howitzers stationed in Gümüştepe area.
The mosque and its surroundings were targeted by intense bombardment for hours.
