Artillery strikes by state forces are getting heavier in Şırnak's İdil district where a state of siege under the name of curfew continues for the 5th day now.

While Yeni and Turgut Özal neighborhoods are being targeted by heavy and ceaseless shelling, fire has started in many houses targeted and hit by cannonballs. Many other houses around Fatih Elementary School in Yeni neighborhood were also demolished.

In the meantime, a civilian by the name of Selim Doğan (47) and another unidentified one were detained in Yeni neighborhood which remains under heavy artillery aggression since early this morning.

Doğan family whose house was also demolished by attacks were detained by police. Parents Hakkı- Leyla Doğan, their six children and nephew Şerafettin Doğan (20) were taken to İdil police station upon detention after the demolition of their house. All the family members apart from Şerafettin Doğan were released and left somewhere outside the town instead of their neighborhood.
