Genocidal attacks by state forces against civilians continue in Cizre and Silopi districts of Şırnak for the 24th day.
Resistance by local self-defense YPS units and people continues in response to the attacks by state forces that aim a total evacuation of the people from both towns. Neighborhoods protected by the people remain under heavy fire.
CİZRE
The Kurdish town of Cizre has been targeted by mortar attacks launched from the Gendarmerie Outpost in Bozalan village and other outposts in surrounding villages since early this morning. Mortar shells left a number of houses demolished and many others on fire.
Şah, Dicle and Alibey neighborhoods where there are no trenches or barricades have also been targeted widely by today's mortar attacks, which indicates an effort to ensure total displacement of the people living in the town.
SİLOPİ
Popular resistance endures against the increasingly ongoing onslaught by Turkish troops in Silopi district. While tank strikes continuously target the neighborhoods protected by local people, military and police teams raided some houses in Cudi and Nuh neighborhood earlier today.
Turkish security members reportedly performed ID check on residents and asked them if the trenches there had been dug by civilians or militants, and if they had seen who dug those trenches.
