Syrian Democratic Forces launch first offensive in south Hesekê

Syrian Democratic Forces, made up of 13 revolutionary forces from Syrian peoples, have started their first offensive against ISIS gangs in the southern countryside of Hesekê under ISIS occupation.

Syrian Democratic Forces, made up of 13 revolutionary forces from Syrian peoples, have started their first offensive against ISIS gangs.

A statement by Syrian Democratic Forces (QSD), which announced its establishment on October 12, was read out by official spokesman Talaş Ali Sülo on behalf of the General Command.

The statement recalled the following points as the goal of the QSD; "Syrian Democratic Forces arose from the unity of free peoples of Syria with the objective of achieving a joint struggle to overcome the current fragmentation of military forces in Syria and ensure the liberation of Syrian peoples from the present atrocity and terror. QSD will be fighting for the building of an equal, free and democratic Syria where all the peoples can enjoy their basic rights and cultural identity without any concerns, express their thoughts and lead a life in freedom."

Pointing to the intensity of political and military developments in the Syrian territory, and the parallel intensity of intervention by external forces and regional states, the statement said it was therefore essential to form a union of forces within this historic process that will determine the fate of the war and conflict in the country.

Reiterating the QSD's promise to cleanse the Syrian territory of terror and to free the peoples of persecution and repression, spokesman Talaş Ali Sülo said; "On the basis of this objective, we take the first step of our work and announce the initiation of our first military offensive against gang groups as part of the plan to free the Syrian lands of terror. Our offensive, joined by the revolutionary forces within the QSD and supported by international coalition aircraft, will be launched in the southern countryside of Hesekê."

Sülo said the offensive will continue until the southern countryside of Hesekê is entirely liberated from ISIS occupation and peace is re-assured in the area.

Warning that gang groups might attempt to use civilians as human shields, Sülo called on the people in the operation area to leave the terrain and pass to the safe areas under their control. He also called upon the peoples of Syria to support and join the QSD, the national force of Syrian peoples.
