TAJÊ: We won't bow to bombs!

In response to the Turkish bombing raids on the Shengal region, the Yazidi women's movement TAJÊ declared: "We are not afraid of them."

After the heavy air strikes on the Shengal region, residents are protesting against the aggression. On Monday, a Turkish drone killed Seîd Hesen, one of the commanders of the Shengal defense units (YBŞ) and his nephew, YBŞ fighter Îsa Xwedêda and injured several civilians in an air strike in the middle of Shengal City (Sinjar).

A devastating attack on a hospital in the village of Sikêniyê in Shengal followed on Tuesday. According to initial information, there have been deaths and injuries. There is still no balance sheet on the consequences of the devastating attack. The freedom movement of the Yazidi women (TAJÊ) protested on Tuesday evening in front of the ruins of the destroyed hospital.

"Listen to our voices"

A spokeswoman for the movement said: “We appeal to the world, listen to our voices. The hospital where a 10-year-old boy, corona patients and elderly people were held was bombed by Erdoğan's planes. The world must stop Erdoğan and his collaborators.”

"We will not accept either the enemy or the Iraqi state"

The woman added: “Let them [the Turkish government] know that even if they drop bombs on us, we are not afraid of them. We will never give in; we will resist until the end. Iraq and Mesud Barzani also support Erdoğan. They have no honor, no dignity, and no decency. Why is the Iraqi government not protecting us? Night has fallen and we are still trying to pull our children out of the rubble of the hospital. We will no longer allow genocide. If the Iraqi state doesn't protect us when it allows Erdoğan's bombs, then it should just leave. The enemy should know that we will not accept him or the Iraqi state.”
