TAK issued a written statement today and claimed responsibility for the recent bombing in Amed.
In its written statement, TAK said:
"As TAK, we claim responsibility for the action that took place in Amed’s Bağlar district around 08:00 on November 4, 2016.
Our friend Kemal Hakkari carried out an action of self-sacrifice against the Police and Special Forces Headquarters in Amed’s Bağlar district on November 4, 2016.
Tens of police officers were killed during this action, which was carried out against the AKP gangs’ and the fascist Turkish state’s policies of occupation, destruction and massacre in Kurdistan and the oppression of and attacks on the democratic, leftist and social powers in Turkey.
Tens of fascist AKP gangs were killed during the self-sacrifice action of our fighter Kemal Hakkari. The Turkish state and its media have been trying to hide the results of this action from the public. DBP Çüngüş District Co-President Recai Altay, who was being held as hostage by fascist police gangs, died during the action. We express that Recai Altay was not a target and we could not have known that he was going to be held there, and we are sorry for his death.
As TAK, we will respond to the fascist and genocidal Turkish state and its affiliates with rich action methods everywhere."
Lastly, TAK is expected to soon share the details of the action on its official website.
