Nearly 70 thousand people celebrated Newroz and saluted the resistance in North Kurdistan as well as the federation declaration in Rojava, West Kurdistan.

Transformed into resistance against the Turkish state’s attacks and massacres in Kurdistan, Newroz is being celebrated by hundreds of thousands of people. Nearly 70 thousand people gathered in Hannover in Germany to celebrate Newroz. Tens of thousands of people came to Am Waterloopplatz in Hannover from tens of cities including Munich, Cologne, Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Hamburg. The crowd carrying PKK, YPG, KCK and other organizations’ banners began to march to the city center at 10:30, and chanted slogans of ‘Long Live Leader Apo’, ‘Revenge’,’Long Live Cizir, Sur, and Silopi resistance’, and ‘down with the AKP.’

Nearly 70 thousand people arrived at the Newroz celebration area and joined the ceremony that began at 13:00. Posters of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Sêvê Demir, Mehmet Tunç and Newroz martyrs were hung in the ceremony stage.

Representatives from the German Left Party, YNK, GORAN, ABDEM, Union of Forces, the German Communist Party, KNK, the leftist movement in Turkey, PYD Co-President Salih Muslim, former HDP parliamentarian Demir Çelik, and delegations from German leftist and socialist groups participated in the Newroz celebration in Hannover.
