The trustee appointed to the municipality of Van's central İpekyolu district has closed the Dibistana Seretayî ya Fatma Tokat, the only school providing education in Kurdish language.
The school in Bostaniçi (Sıxke) neighborhood of İpekyolu district was opened in November 2015 with joint efforts of Kurdi-Der Van Branch and Education Support House (MAPER).
50 students were visiting 3 classes in the school which has been closed now on the instruction of the trustee recently appointed to İpekyolu Municipality.
The closing of the school was grounded on the suspension of Kurdi-Der's activities for 3 months.
