Guerrilla Sarîna Şervan spoke about her life in the PKK before falling a martyr: “If I were reborn, I would again fight on the basis of Öcalan's philosophy.”
Sarîna Şervan, whose real name was Mehnaz Hesen Xeleflo, was born in 1997 to a patriotic family in Maku, East Kurdistan. Despite the attacks of the enemy, Sarîna's family did not renounce the Kurdish culture, which had a positive effect on Sarina's personality.
Sarîna grew up with her Kurdish culture. For this reason, she did not accept the Iranian regime. She faced more contradictions and plunged into a quest. Sarîna, who did not accept the persecution of the Iranian regime, especially against women and the Kurdish people, familiarized herself with the Freedom Movement in 2012.
She considered the guerrilla ranks as a place where she could find answers to her questions and fight. In 2014, she went to the mountains of Kurdistan and joined the guerrillas. Sarîna received military training in Xakûrkê the same year and struggled in many fields for years to come. Sarîna, who met many fighters during her freedom journey, was fascinated by the comradeship within the PKK. In her assessment, Sarîna expressed the following about life in the PKK: “I wish I had known and participated in the PKK life earlier. In that case, I would be fighting more in the areas of freedom. If I were reborn, I would again fight and prefer a free life based on Öcalan's philosophy. I would pay any price for this honourable life and freedom."
SHE PERFORMED VARIOUS TASKS
Sarîna, who never compromised her struggle in the face of all difficulties, continued her resistance austerely in many areas. She volunteered to perform the most laborious tasks. Sarîna went to training areas in 2017 to achieve her goals and objectives. She developed herself at the Martyr Beritan Academy and got ready to struggle in all areas of life. She started to carry out her struggle even more strongly, with determination and willpower.
Sarîna also developed herself in the military field and assumed a leading role in the women's army. Guerrilla Sarîna, who volunteered for the Bakur (North Kurdistan) area, was assigned to the Serhat region. Sarina, who attentively kept track of enemy troops in Bakur, became angrier after each martyrdom and confronted the enemy with the feeling of revenge.
Despite all the difficulties, she fulfilled her mission in the revolutionary people's war. On June 8, 2020 Sarîna survived an enemy ambush by showing outstanding resistance together with her three fellow fighters. However, the enemy troops launched a large-scale operation in the region after the ambush. Sarîna and her three comrades, who ferociously fought back the enemy troops, became martyred following the armed conflict.
