HDP Şırnak deputy Faysal Sarıyıldız stated that Turkish forces tried to prepare the ground for a massacre in the basement where 28 slain and wounded people remain trapped for 5 days. Five of them have died from loss of blood since, while the others are facing an intensified aggression.
While the building remains under artillery and mortar fire since earlier today, state forces that surrounded the area with armored vehicles have made announcements calling on the people inside to “surrender”.
HDP Şırnak deputy Faysal Sarıyıldız who is also in the town strongly reacted to the announcement, saying; “The people there are wounded. They cannot stand up or go out of that basement even. They are also under an ongoing shelling. State forces must be withdrawn from the area and ambulances must be sent to the scene to get them out in the shortest time possible. It is an attempt of massacre to impose a surrender. Five of them have lost their life so far. This is a mindset of massacre. There are no armed people in that basement. They are children, university students, women and civilians.”
Sarıyıldız also criticized the warmongering Turkish media reports which manipulate the public opinion by portraying the people there as "top PKK members".
HDP MP said; "The despicable media has reported no single news incorruptly so far. It just spreads disinformation, which makes it an accomplice to this massacre. The media is so despicable that it labels even our Municipal Council member a terrorist. And now, the very same media is preparing the ground for a massacre. We have been reporting the identities of these people for days. They include children and elderly. This media has grown into a monster."
