Three-day mourning in Rojava after the suicide attack in Hesekê

The General Coordination of Rojava Cantons has declared a three-day mourning across Rojava after last night's suicide attack in Hesekê which left 30 people dead and 90 others wounded.

The General Coordination of Rojava Cantons has released a statement on last night's suicide attack by ISIS which targeted a wedding in Hesekê, leaving dozens of people, mostly women and children, dead or wounded.

The Coordination stressed that: “Terrorists elements want to take the revenge of the defeats they have suffered in the hands of our forces in many areas of Rojava and Northern Syria from civilians. We strongly condemn this malicious attack and we state that these attacks will not be able to hinder our projects to build freedom and democracy for our peoples.”

Calling upon the international community and democrat peoples to take sides with the Rojava Revolution in order for the achievement of a solution to the Syrian crisis, the General Coordination of Rojava Cantons offered their condolences to the Kurdish people and the families of those martyred, and wished a speedy recovery to all the wounded.

The Coordination declared a three-day mourning starting from today and called on the people to be cautious against attacks and avoid gatherings outside.
