Three Turkish soldiers were killed in a guerrilla sabotage in Avaşîn. This is according to a statement on the war in Kurdistan issued by the press office of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) on Saturday. According to the statement, the sabotage action was carried out by guerrillas on Friday afternoon in the Girê Kartal resistance area in response to an attempted poison gas attack by occupation forces. There is no confirmed information about the outcome of a sabotage operation carried out earlier in the day.

The Turkish army's aggression in Avaşîn has been concentrated in the vicinity of the Kartal hill for the third consecutive day. On Thursday, the region was subjected to intense air strikes and artillery attacks from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Around midnight, further bombardments began against Girê Silêman, Girê Sor and Gundê Dirê before airborne troops were dropped. Fierce fighting broke out on Friday morning, and an attempted advance by the occupation forces was halted.

HPG reported dozens of strikes on soldiers from close range, while data on dead or injured is not yet available. Meanwhile, the Turkish army is guilty of another war crime. In yesterday's midday hours alone, nine attacks using chemical agents and/or poison gas were recorded in the region. Another eight chemical weapons attacks followed in the evening as well as on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, the fighting continues in all intensity.

Air and ground attacks in Werxelê and Gare

The HPG further reported that the Werxelê resistance area in Avaşîn came under howitzer fire again from Turkish soil last night. Shells fired from border posts also struck in Çemço. In Gare, the Kafya area has been bombed by the Turkish Air Force.

Military operations in Botan

In Northern Kurdistan, military activities have recently been increasingly directed against the Botan region. The HPG reported a series of large-scale operations against guerrilla retreat areas that have been resumed without results for the army. On the details, the statement said,

An operation launched on August 30 in Kato between Van’s Çatak district and Şırnak’s Beytüşşebap district focused on the Çelê Bûka and Toranis areas. The following day, the unsuccessful venture was stopped.

On September 21, the Bindarê area located at Kato Xelîla in Çatak was bombed by fighter jets and helicopters. The Turkish army then launched a ground operation, but withdrew by September 23. An operation that lasted from October 12 to 14 in Çelê Bûka and Ava Masîro also proved fruitless.

Other operations in the previous month also included the village of Sîxurpaşa, Kato Jirka and Deriyê Beqê. "Not a single operation by the occupiers yielded results," the HPG said.
