Tortured villager from Xerabê Bava formally arrested

Two people from the villages of Xerabê Bava and Cibilgirav in Mardin's Nusaybin district, both of which remain under the siege of state forces, have been formally arrested.

Two people from the villages of Xerabê Bava and Cibilgirav in Mardin's Nusaybin district, both of which remain under the siege of state forces, have been formally arrested.

Abdi Aykut had been tortured before and during his detention by state forces in Xerabê Bava (Koruköy) village on February 19.

Aykut and the headman of the Cibilgirav (Doğanlar) village, Muzaffer Sarı who had also been detained, testified at the prosecutor's office today before being referred to court with a demand for their arrest.

Both villagers were remanded in custody for allegedly “aiding and abetting a terrorist organization”.
