The curfew in the Kurdish city of Şırnak, in place since March 14, has been lifted partially today.
One of the most attention-grabbing points in the city ruined by state forces is the aftermath of the 7-storey building of the DBP (Democratic Regions' Party) and HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party).
All the parks and gardens in the city center were also destroyed although these areas witnessed no clashes during the course of the battle in the city which already ended months ago.
Eight neighborhoods were completely razed to the ground, leaving no living space in the city center.
The neighborhoods destroyed by state forces during the 8 months of an all-out war are: Yeşilyurt, Gazipaşa, İsmetpaşa, Cumhuriyet, Aydınlıkevler, Dicle, Bahçelievler and Yeni.
Torn pages of the Quran are encountered on streets in the neighborhoods where demolition continues.
Residents are waiting in a long queue in the city entrance before entering the city where they are trying to find first their neighborhoods, then their houses.
The large-scale demolition by construction equipment is ongoing.
