Administration of Ağrı's Doğubayazıt Municipality has been taken over by a state-appointed trustee, District Governor Ulaş Akhan.

The district governor has been appointed in place of co-mayor Rohat Özbay who remains in custody since yesterday morning when he was detained by police alongside 12 other people.

In the meantime, the search started by police after yesterday morning's raid on the municipal building has just ended but police forces remain deployed around the building.
