The municipality of Amed's Bismil district has also been seized by the government of Turkey with a trustee appointed in place of the elected co-mayors.

Bismil district governor Turgay Genç has been appointed to the district municipality held by the Democratic Regions' Party (DBP).

House of Co-mayor Cemile Eminoğlu and the municipality had been targeted by simultaneous police raids and searches the day before.
