Turkish attack kills three civilians in northern Iraq

Three civilians lost their lives as result of Turkish bombardment on Metina region in northern Iraq, southern Kurdistan.

Turkish warplanes supported by unmanned aerial vehicles bombed the Kani Botkê hamlet in Serê Metina area of Metina region on Wednesday.

According to local sources, three civilians named as Ramazan, Dilovan and İsmail, who were on the ground during the bombardment, lost their lives as a result of the attack.

Reports suggest that families of three civilians went to the scene to retrieve the bodies.

Turkish Ministry of National Defense said the following in a statement on Twitter: “As a result of an aerial bombardment on Metina region in northern Iraq on 14 November 2018, emplacements, shelters and ammunition depots of the terrorist organization were destroyed and 4 separatist terrorists who were preparing to attack our bases were neutralized”, portraying the slain civilians as guerrillas.
