Turkish bombardment starts a fire in South Kurdistan

The fire started by Turkish bombardment in southern Kurdistan 4 days ago continues.

On August 31, Turkish warplanes conducted a bombardment in the lands of southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq. The bombardment targeted the Geliyê Balında, Saca, Çemê Meşa and Sitê villages and their surroundings in the countryside of Sheladize town in Amadiya city.

The fire started by Turkish airstrikes in the forests, is still continuing. Vineyards and orchards of hundreds of hectares, belonging to the civilian people living in the region, were greatly damaged by the fire.

In an attempt to prevent local people from trying to put out the fire, Turkish jets conducted another strike, forcing the people to return from the scene without an intervention.
