The Botan March  to Şırnak's Cizre district organised by the DBP (Party of Democratic Regions) has kicked off from Mardin's Nusaybin district today.

The march started from Girêmîra neighborhood where a vigil in solidarity with Cizre resistance continues for 6 days during which thousands from across the Kurdish region have gathered before starting today's march.

The march to Cizre is being staged in protest at the increasingly ongoing onslaught and denial of ambulance to the dozens of wounded people who remain trapped in a basement in Cudi neighborhood for 6 days now.

HDP deputies are also joining the thousands who left for Mardin-Şırnak highway amid a heavy siege of military and police forces.

The mass was soon later blocked and attacked by Turkish forces in the village of Kemina. While the crackdown continues, youths are responding to the attack with stones.
