Turkish military activity continues in Medya Defense Zones

The Turkish army is continuing its attacks against the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

HPG Press Centre released a written statement providing information on the latest attacks by the Turkish army in South Kurdistan.

The statement said that in the evening of November 4, the Turkish army launched a large-scale military operation after bombing the Keşan area in the Heftanîn region with fighter jets and attack helicopters. The Turkish troops withdrew with no results on 6 November.

On 5 November, the Turkish army bombed the Werxelê and Dola Konferansê areas in the Avaşîn region with fighter jets and heavy weapons.

On November 5 and 7, Kanîsarkê area of ​​Garê, Gûndê Sewrê and Kanîbotki areas in Çemankê were bombed by fighter jets.

On November 7, at 20:00, the Ava Lolan area in the Xakurke region was bombed by fighter jets.

On November 7, between 22:00 and 00:30, the Qela Bedewê area in the Zap region was bombed by attack helicopters.

HPG said that material damage was reported in the fields and gardens of the local people following the mentioned bombings carried out by the Turkish army, and the civilian people had to leave their villages due to the fires that broke out on ground.

In the evening hours between November 5 and 8, Turkish helicopters were active over the Tabura Ereba, Mervanos, Werxelê and Banista areas of the Avaşîn region.
