As the Turkish invasion attacks continue in Kato, Turkish troops evacuated the Kûtos hamlet in the countryside of the Hakkari province in North Kurdistan.
The occupying Turkish state launched a military operation at Kato Mountain in Hakkari in April. Following the clashes that broke out in the vicinity of the Marînus village in the Kato region on April 22, an embargo was imposed on the village. The residents of the Kûtos hamlet near the Marînus village were expelled from the village.
On the 18th day of the embargo, the residents of the Kûtos hamlet were forced to take their sheep to the highlands of other villages after they refused to work as spies for the state forces. Faced with yet another crackdown here, the local people had to evacuate the village completely, after which the bridges they used were burned by Turkish soldiers. It is reported that camera traps have been placed at many points, specifically on the most hills dominating the village.
While nobody has been allowed to enter the village for 18 days, a checkpoint has been established by the Turkish troops on another road from Qewal (Kaval) village to Marînus village. It is reported that the soldiers forced the residents of Kaval to get involved in spying activities and those who refused were expelled from the village, while those who agreed remained.
