Guerilla forces carried out an extensive aciton on the Elîşêr Hill in the Avaşin state. The guerilla forces consisted of four wings and entered the hill at a foggy time. The guerilla forces infiltrating the hill destroyed three positions of the soldiers who were unaware of the action. Then they moved in on the bodies and took most of their weapons. 36 soldiers died on Elîşêr Hill, and one gun and two clips of a ranked soldier, one BKC gun and two hybrids were seized.

The guerillas among the action forces spoke on the goal of the action, how the guerilla planned for the action and the morale of the units and the success of the guerilla.

‘WE WILL FIGHT UNTIL OUR LAST DROP OF BLOOD’

Şervan Zagros: “The Turkish state has been carrying out operations everywhere including the border lines for months. Of course, the guerilla continues their activity against the army and displays a great resistance to break these operations. As everybody knows, there was an operation on the Elîşêr Hill in October. The army thought they took the hill with one operation, but they saw how wrong they were with the action carried out by the guerilla two days ago. Everything from ammunition to logistics were planned out in detail in the action. The action consisted of four wings, and even though it fell on a cold and stormy day, there was no doubt or worry in any of our friends. On the contrary, all of us had high morale right up to the last minute. We had already promised to fight until our last drop of blood and to never stop until we take that hill from the enemy. With this promise, we marched on towards the enemy.

‘WE INFILTRATED THE HILL WITH THE APOIST SPIRIT’

The action commencing during the day and at a time with heavy fog shocked the enemy. Because the enemy wasn’t expecting this. The soldiers were acting very relaxed, but they saw that the guerilla will never back down with one operation and that the guerilla wouldn’t leave the Elîşêr Hill to them easily, they will make that hill hell for them until all martyrs are avenged. The state is trying to hide the truth of what happened in Elîşêr Hill as always. We were there. We saw for ourselves how the soldiers broke down without technical power, and how they gave in to fear and panic. The enemy leans on technique, but they should never forget that nothing can stand against the guerilla. Nothing can stop the activity of the guerilla and the reality of the Apoist spirit. All friends who took part in this action were specially selected, sacrificing friends. We marched towards the enemy with the spirit of the PKK and the Apoist spirit, and we broke the soldiers on that hill.”

‘ZAGROS MOUNTAINS BECAME A GRAVE FOR TURKISH SOLDIERS’

Eylem Bagok: “I was in the wing that marched to the summit. We were in the terrain for days until the action started. We didn’t mind the cold or the rain. We had a single goal. To go to Elîşêr Hill and to deal a heavy blow to the enemy on that hill. While we marched to the hill with this goal, we saw that the soldiers weren’t accustomed to the harsh conditions, and that they couldn’t handle the cold in the Zagros Mountains. All of them huddling together and leaving their posts empty was a sign of that. As we moved in to infiltrate the hill, I noticed the relaxed nature of the soldiers. They were not expecting the guerilla to carry out an action, so they were complacent. When the action started, they panicked. The soldiers didn’t know what hit them, they started crying out for their mothers. Of course in those moments all soldiers were our targets and one by one they were targeted by our bullets. These lands became their graves.”

‘THE SACRIFICIAL SPIRIT DEVELOPED IN THE PERSON OF FRIENDS PEŞENG, ZERİN, RONİ AND NUMAN’

Friends Peşeng and Roni’s last words were “We will definitely take the hill”. Friend Zerin’s only goal was to avenge Friend Ekin and other friends, and to put up the flag on the summit. She did in fact go up to the summit. Friend Peşeng was injured, when she moved to help him they both fell martyr. Friend Zerin reached her goal by going up to the summit, being in the area of the flag and attempting to save her wounded friend. The sacrificial spirit developed in the person of friends Peşeng, Zerin, Roni and Numan.”

‘GUERILLA ACTIVITY WILL CONTINUE’

Zınar Serhed: “I was also in the group that went up to the summit. We moved in up to 20 meters from the soldiers, but they didn’t hear a thing. All friends started the action with great morale and enthusiasm. This morale and enthusiasm didn’t wane until the end of the action. The events of that day on the action grounds show that the army is broken and there is nothing left of the soldiers. The soldiers lean on technique, and we have proven how helpless and incapable when they have no technique on the Elîşêr Hill. All must know this fact: Like our leader says, we will never bow down, even if the whole world came upon us. We will be there against all attacks on our people and our country. As the Guerilla forces, our activity will always continue. We will never step back. We will always march forward with the Apoist spirit.

‘PKK IS A MOVEMENT THAT MAKES THEM PAY’

Berçem Dijle: “I also took part in the Elîşêr operation. I had to avenge friend Medeni and Ekin. I promised myself I would avenge them from the moment I took my place in the action. With this action, we avenged them. All the bullets I fired on the enemy were revenge for the martyred friends. The enemy should know that nothing will go unpaid. The PKK movement will never leave anything unaccounted for. We will never stop until our martyred friends are avenged. And we didn’t. Over this reality, with the sacrificial spirit of our martyrs, we marched on to the enemy and made them pay. We carried out a successful action. Around 36 soldiers died in this action. We moved in on the bodies one by one and took their weapons. There were too many, so we couldn’t bring all of them back. We destroyed most of them. We took back one gun and two clips from a ranked soldier, two hybrids and one BKC gun.”
