Soldiers affiliated to the Turkish army captured the man in the rural area of Güngören village in Agrı's Bazid (Doğubayazıt) district yesterday evening.

According to the reports, Angi was heading towards the border from his village 2 km away when soldiers stopped the man after a while and started to batter him. According to the testimonies of Iranian villagers living near the border, Turkish soldiers tortured the man and killed him before covering his body in a blanket and throwing it to the Iranian side. The same people who went to the scene in the morning, found Angi's dead body in blanket.

According to villagers who handed over the body to Iranian soldiers, Angi had been tortured on the chest, back and arms, and his body was covered with bruises.

Earlier today, Iranian soldiers brought Angi's body to Gürbulak border crossing, from which it was taken by Turkish officials and sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution in Erzurum for a post-mortem examination.
