A total of 27 burnt and fragmented corpses were retrieved from the scene of the massacre committed by Turkish state forces in a basement in Şırnak's Cizre district 3 days ago. The bodies were yesterday taken to Cizre State Hospital with municipal ambulances which state forces allowed access to the scene in Cudi neighborhood only after the massacre. Bodies were later sent to Şırnak, Mardin and Urfa for autopsy.
Out of the 8 bodies sent to Urfa, 2 have been identified by families. Accordingly, one of these belongs to Sultan Irmak (16) who had died waiting evacuation in the first revealed “basement of atrocity” alongside 15 other wounded people. The other is of Fehmi Dinç who was also among those wounded trapped in the same basement. Both bodies were with burns and bullet shots.
With this most recent development, it comes out that the first basement was also targeted by state forces on the day the offensive against the second basement in the same Cudi neighborhood, where 62 people had sought shelter amid the ongoing siege and aggression. 10 of these had previously died; 9 burned to death and 1 shot dead by state forces.
It has emerged that Fehmi Dinç is the youth seen to be making a victory sign on one of the images received from the basement some 2 weeks ago.
