Representatives from Rûbar and Shehba Immigrant Camps in Efrîn have issued an urgent call for aid from human rights and aid organisations.
The Efrîn Canton of Rojava, West Kurdistan, is under the grip of the gangs on one side and the Turkish state on the other. Despite this, civilians continue migrating from their lands due to the invasion of gangs allied with ISIS and AKP/MİT in the Shehba region and taking refuge in the Efrîn Canton, which they deem safest. The Efrîn administration has set up two immigrant camps for civilians migrating from the invaded regions. The victims of war living in Rûbar and Shehba migrant camps have a call for the human rights and aid organisations. To this end, people living in both camps have made statements.
In the statements, Emîne Talib spoke for the Rûbar camp and Îsmayîl Hesen for Shehba camp. The statement is as follows:
“The Efrîn Canton has been under the grip of the gangs and the Turkish state for more than four years, and the humanitarian aid isn’t allowed to pass through to the region. The Turkish state doesn’t allow fundamental needs like humanitarian aid materials and medical supplies to pass through from Bab El-Seleme border gate to the north of Aleppo. On the other hand, they never refrain from supplying the gangs in the region with weapons with convoys of vehicles.
The humanitarian crisis and lack of supplies in Rûbar and Shehba camps are worsening.
Human rights organisations and humanitarian aid organisations should reassess the situation in the region at once. We as the immigrants are in urgent need of basic food stuffs, tents, winter clothing and medical supplies.”
