A fire started last night between Amed's Xana Axpar (Çınar) district and Mêrdîn's Şemrex (Mazıdağı) district, spreading quickly to residential areas. According to initial findings, 7 people lost their lives and many others were injured.

Resul Yılmaz and Şehmus Demir, who lost their lives in Keleka rural neighborhood of Şemrex, were buried in the local cemetery.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) co-chairs Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar and Keskin Bayındır, People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MPs, Amed, Batman, Mardin municipality co-mayors and many people attended the funeral.
