Guerrillas carried out another action against Turkish forces that continue their invasion attacks in southern Kurdistan. At least two soldiers were killed in Lelikan.
The Press and Communications Center of People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM) released a statement announcing the results of an action by guerrillas in northern Iraq.
According to the statement, “As part of the Martyr Agiri and Martyr Piroz Revolutionary Campaign launched against the Turkish army’s invasion operations in southern Kurdistan, our forces carried out an action against the enemy soldiers stationed on Hill Lelikan at 13:00 on May 1. Effective strikes left two soldiers dead and one other wounded.”
HPG-BIM noted that Turkish jets shelled Gundê Şuşanê hamlet after the guerrilla action, while the dead and wounded soldiers were retrieved from the scene in the evening hours.
